What I Said About This Layout:
Featuring art by Kagaya  (from boyis.com), this is a tribute to a flute player, who not only has incredible talent, but is also a very good friend. ^_^  V.14 uses varying degrees of the color blue, with hints of gold, and the font Eszperanza.

Title: PinkSugarHeart ATTACK!

Nonchalant.nu Version 15
(Click Thumbnail to View Larger Image)

What I Said About This Layout:
Featuring fabulous fanart by Toia S., version 15 is splashed with varying shades of reds and pinks ("My colors are blush and bashful." "Her colors are pink and pink."), along with touches of creams and golds, to showcase my favorite anime character of all time -- Sailor Chibimoon (aka Chibiusa) from one of my favorite anime, Sailor Moon.

This isn't necessarily a tribute to Valentine's Day, so much as a breakout from the blue that had been hanging around for over 6 months (yikes!).

Besides the sugar-sweet color scheme, fonts used are Supernova and CAC Camelot. Brushes were kindly used from 8nero.net, rebel-heart.net, aethereality.net, and truly-sarah.com. (If I left one off the list, I apologize. If you see your brush used, but your name/site not listed, please let me know so I can add you.) And the words are from the song Anywhere Is by Enya.

Title: Show Me Your Caliber, and I'll Show You My Soul

What I Said About This Layout:
This version boasts Xinghua, my favorite character from the PS2 version of Soul Caliber 2 -- in fanart form, of course, from a wonderful artist at deviantART.

The images are screencaps from the actual video game of one of my favorite stages (I think it's because of the sakura, they're so pretty!)

Colors used are purple and gold, with a hint of peach and dark brown. Main font used is Rickshaw.

Title: Pay No Attention to the Girl Behind the Curtain (5 Years Online)

Nonchalant.nu Version 17
(Click Thumbnail to View Larger Image)

What I Said About This Layout:
This version features Gabby (me!) from a December 2004 photoshoot (photos taken by my friend Russell C.) involving a lovely cloak of velvet with embossed leaves that I made. This is actually a compiled image, as my face looked better in one shot, but in a similar shot, the cloak was highlighted a little better, so I Photoshopped them! I also used some Photoshop magic to edit the image (with some smoothing and a cool crosshatching technique).

Colors used are dark and light browns, with some burgundy thrown in, and just a touch of leaf accents to mirror the leaves in the velvet. Fonts used are Signet Roundhand and Times New Roman.

Version 17 marks nonchalant.nu's 5-year anniversary! ^_^ Here's to 5 more!

Title:  Circle Me Purple  (There's no such thing as too much purple. ^_^)

What I Said About This Layout:
This version of nonchalant.nu features artwork copyrighted to the illustrators at organicfields.net. My fiance Brian was teasing me on the fact that I like to use more "angular" shapes in my layouts, so I found something a little different, but using my favorite color -- purple.

Colors used are obviously shades of purple, with a little dash of gray for font color. Font used is "A Yummy Apology."

What I Said About This Layout:
This version makes 6 years of nonchalant.nu being online! It features Kuchiki Rukia, from the manga/anime Bleach. The artwork is from the 2006 calendar, downloaded from the gallery site of aethereality.net  (she has tons of cool artwork).

Brian (the hubby) and I just recently started watching Bleach, and we've become pretty addicted. ^_^ This layout is dedicated to him, since this is perhaps one of his favorite anime series so far. (Although, I don't know if that's saying much, seeing as the usual stuff I expose him to is mahou shoujo (magical girl), and this one is definitely geared more towards guys. ^_-)

Colors used are black, white, shades of gray and a dash of red. Fonts used is "Blackadder ITC" and "ZapfEllipt BT."  Quote used is from the first season Bleach anime end theme.

What I Said About This Layout:
Version 22 of nonchalant.nu features fanart of Disney's The Little Mermaid -- my favorite movie. I love Ariel and how she chooses to pursue her dream, no matter what. This beautiful image is copyrighted to Daniela Uhlig and used with permission. The flowery, swirly frame is by Michelle Coleman. Colors used include red and tan, with dashes of green. Fonts used are "Tiranti Solid" (logo) and "Arial"  for text.
